Anal Fissure

A small cut or tear in the skin lining the anus is Anal Fissure.

What causes Anal Fissure?

  • Childbirth.
  • Constipation.
  • Diarrhoea.
  • Decreases blood flow in the rectal¬†area due to old age.
  • Overly tight anal muscles.


  • Burning or itching in the anal area.
  • A small lump of skin near the anal tear.
  • Extreme pain in the anal area during bowel movements.
  • Appearance of streaks of blood while passing stools.
