Alopecia is a condition where hair is lost in patches, usually on the scalp. However, it can affect even other parts of the body like eyebrows, eyelashes, beard, moustache etc.

What causes Alopecia?
Alopecia occurs due to a mixture of immunological and hormonal factors. It is a condition where the body’s immune system attacks the hair follicles and destroys them mistakenly.  However, it can be caused even due to hereditary factors.

Who are prone to Alopecia?
Alopecia affects approximately 2% of the world population. Both men and women can get affected with this disorder, however many children are also prone to this condition.
